Statement on Systemic Racism and Police Brutality
We unite in solidarity with all those in the U.S. and beyond who demand an end to systemic racism and police violence.
We, the Center for Relational Change, as an organization and individuals, are outraged over the systemic racism which has led to the oppression, marginalization, silencing, dehumanization and killing of Black people. While the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd have been the catalyst for the recent protests and outrage, as professional mental health clinicians, we see and seek to address the pervasive impact that centuries of systemic racism has had on Black people and all people of color in the United States and around the world. In addition, we seek to continuously address and call out the benefits and impact systemic racism has on White people both nationally and globally.
To all of our community members, we are here to listen and support you, to have difficult conversations on racism and white privilege, and to address the pervasive toll systematic racism and oppression, along with police violence, takes on your mental health and relationships.
